A possibllity for libraries

Oyster, dubbed the Netflix of e-books has a monthly price of 9.99 for all the books you can read. It comes with a huge list of titles. Libraries, depending on the TOS (terms of service), could have devices set with this app and the patron rents the device for a week or two and gets to read anything they please from Oyster.

Every time I hear reading is going the way of the dodo, I can only laugh.
